Peterson Funeral Chapel

Wanda Lee (Ellis) Reser was born February 4, 1923 in Galena, MO to David Edgar and Lola (Wise) Ellis. At the age of eight the family moved to Crane where Wanda completed most of her schooling and graduated with the class of 1940. During this time Wanda worked Saturdays and summers in the grocery department of the MFA Exchange. 

On November 7, 1942 Wanda married Stephen Franklin Reser. They both attended Southwest Missouri State College in Springfield, MO. In April 1943, Frank was called to service in World War II, serving until January, 1946. During that time , Wanda worked at the Red Front Clothing Store in Crane. 
After Frank returned from service, Wanda took her State Teachers exam and taught 29 consecutive years. She finished her college education by attending Spring, summer, and August terms and then returned to teach in the classroom for the regular school term each fall.  She obtained her Bachelor of Science in Education degree in 1961. 

While living in Aurora Wanda belonged to the Aurora First Church of God where she played the piano. She also played for a group called “Singing Friends” which she enjoyed very much. The last eight years of her life she spent with her family. Moving to Colorado in 2013 and then to Florida in 2018. 

On May 4, 2021 at the age of 98 Wanda went home to be with Jesus. Preceding
 her in death were her parents Ed and Lola Ellis, her husband Frank Reser, two sisters and one brother, Blanche Morrison, Dorothy Roden, and David Ellis. 

Survivors include her son Steve Reser and his wife Carolyn, two granddaughters, Terra Treadwell and Christy Weadon, and  four great-grandsons: Caden Weadon, Boston Treadwell, Owen Treadwell, and Tyler Weadon. As well as other nieces and nephews. 

Graveside services will be held Monday, August 2 at 10:00 a.m. in the Crane Community Cemetery under the care of Peterson Funeral Chapel.
