Virginia Mary Stockton, 85, passed away Friday, July 23, 2021 at the Houston Methodist Hospital of the Woodlands, TX.
She was born to Frank Polodna and Catherine Lehar on September 23, 1935 in Bolivar, MO. She was later adopted by her aunt and uncle, Minne and Paul Hulse.
She worked for many years as a secretary in the business office at St. John’s Hospital, now called Mercy Hospital. She met and married Kenneth Stockton on July 23, 1975, who preceded her in death, June of 2019. It was over 30 years ago Virginia and her husband moved to the eastern part of Texas to begin a new adventure of their life together. There she worked at a bank in Tomball, Texas until her retirement.
Mrs. Stockton was a member of the First Montgomery Baptist Church in Montgomery, Texas. She helped organize the church library, attended Sunday School and church services on a regular basis. Her most proud accomplishment was her job as a door greeter each Sunday morning before church. She always had a welcoming smile on her face to everyone who entered the building.
She loved life, her family, and her pets. When talking about memories from the past, she always said, “Fun times!”
Survivors include her brothers, Jim and Loren Hulse; four sisters, Dolores Kutz, Donna Breesawitz, Patricia Kirk and Barbara White; and three step-children, Jenelle D. Stockton, Lori Gay Garcia and Gregory Kent Stockton.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, July 29 at 2:00 p.m. in the Peterson Funeral Chapel. Burial will follow in Clio Cemetery.
