Raymond L. Fare, age 84, of Marionville, Missouri departed this life on April 28, 2016 at Cox Hospital in Springfield, Missouri. Raymond was born in Jenkins, Missouri on March 25, 1932 to Ted and Nellie (Short) Fare.
Raymond accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior in recent years. He attended the Fundamental Methodist Church in Aurora, Missouri. He graduated from Aurora High School in 1950. Shortly after graduation, he served a tour in the U.S. Army, serving in Europe as an engineer. He worked at Carnation Can Company following high school and returned after his Army discharge. He worked there until his retirement in 1993. Raymond was also a member of the Tri-County Rescue squad for many years.
Raymond and Evelyn enjoyed raising cattle and farming throughout their marriage. It gave them many years of pleasure working along side each other on the farm. In addition to spending time with his family and friends, Raymond also enjoyed drinking coffee at Jim Carr’s, watching NASCAR, St. Louis Cardinals baseball, and Lady Bears basketball.
Raymond is survived by his wife of 60 years, Evelyn (Broce) Fare, Marionville; Son, Calvin (Teena) Fare, Marionville; 2 grandchildren, Andrea (Aaron) McDonald, Green City, MO, James (Tashina) Fare, Marionville; and 6 great-grandchildren, Thomas, Ryan, Allison, Easton, Madison, and Chase. In addition to his parents, Raymond was preceded in death by Evelyn’s parents, John and Bedith Broce.
Visitation is scheduled for 1:00 Saturday, April 30 at the Fundamental Methodist Church , 1518 S. Jefferson in Aurora. A graveside service will follow at 2:30 at Maple Park Cemetery, Aurora. Arrangements are under the direction of Peterson Funeral Home in Aurora, Missouri.
