Randall Lee Stirewalt, was born on September 5th,1951 in Monett, MO to Robert & Shirley Stirewalt of Mt. Vernon, MO. He passed away on April 23rd 2020, in Aurora, MO at 68 years old. He was held by his wife Phyllis, of 50 years, until he entered the presence of his Lord.
Randall graduated from Mt. Vernon High School in 1969, that same year he married his high school sweetheart, Phyllis Huff. Together they went to Baptist Bible College where Randall received his degree in Intercultural Studies. He served as a Pastor in Texas, Illinois and then in 1979, moved his family to Kenya, East Africa.
Courage was always a defining character trait of Randall. He leaned into a new culture, learned a new language and began to serve, work and love so many of the Kenyan people. He dedicated the next 40 years of his life to church planting, discipleship, leadership development, and loving the people around him. He is dearly loved by tens of thousands of men and women in Kenya & Uganda, who are celebrating his life & homecoming.
Randall, is survived by his sister Jeanie Meyers (Melvin) of Stotts City, MO; Kenneth Stirewalt (Sharon) of Nixa, MO and Nancy Gould (Leon) of Chesapeake, MO. His four children: Patti Mohler (Jonathan) of San Antonio, TX; Andrea Priebe (Matthew) of Boise, ID; Marci Jones (Brandon) of Porto Alegre, Brazil; Randall Stirewalt (Emily) of La Monte, MO; One adopted son, David Chege (Mary) Eldoret, Kenya. 12 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren, numerous nephews and nieces and other family members.
Due to current Covid-19 restrictions, a private family funeral service will be held with his wife, and children under the care of Peterson Funeral Chapel. A memorial service and celebration will follow once restrictions have been lifted.
