Max Lee Black, 77, of Aurora passed away Monday, December 12, 2022 at Mercy Hospital in Springfield, Missouri. He was born to Otho and Mary Virginia Black on October 21, 1945 in Aurora, Missouri. He attended Verona Schools, graduating in 1963. He started working for the Missouri Highway Department until mid 1965. Max went to work at Carnation Can Company in Mt. Vernon which later changed to Siligan Can right before his retirement at the age of 50. He was with the company for thirty years. He lived all his life in the Verona and Aurora area.

He married Connie Harmon in 1965 and they had three children; Marty (Amy) Black of Aurora, Scott Black of Aurora, and Tammy (Brad) Gill of Hollister.

Max is also survived by his sister Betty Bartelsmeyer of Aurora.

Max had five grandchildren; Austin Black, Garrett(Calli) Black, Shalaina (Mikal) Motley, Annette Gill and Breana Black. Six great grandchildren; Kasyn and Jaxton Black, Roycedon and Adlai Motley, Eleanor and Margot Black.

He enjoyed clogging the past Forty years. He performed with a group all over the Ozarks.

Max was preceded in death by his parents and grandparents.

Funeral Services will be held at Peterson Funeral Chapel on Friday, December 16th at 11:00 AM. Visitation will be held from 10:00 until service time.
