            Maurice Brandon Wrinkle of Aurora, MO. was called home to be with Jesus on March 8, 2021. He had resided at the Mt. Vernon Place Care Center for 2 months. He was 97 years, 5 months and 8 days of age.

            Maurice the son of Albert and Edna (Branstetter) Wrinkle was born September 1, 1923. He attended Marionville schools. He married the love of his life, Leona Thurman in May of 1941 and they shared 74 years together until her death in 2015.

            Maurice was a supervisor at the MFA Milling Co. for 37 years. Taking time out to serve in the Army during WW II on Iwo Jima. While stationed away from home Maurice would write wonderful letters home most every day to his wife and two children.

            He loved to hunt and fish. And he and Leona traveled and saw the sights in the United States. His most favorite times were with his family when all could be together.

            Maurice was a lifelong member of the Aurora United Methodist Church where he served on many committees over the years.

            He is survived by three children, Jim (Glenda) of Aurora, Carol Kissee of Battlefield and Kevin of Excelsior Springs. He is also survived by 8 grandchildren, Valerie Bailey, Brian Kissee, Brandon Wrinkle, Matthew Wrinkle, Beth Nahlik, Richard Wrinkle, Scottie Wrinkle and Joanna Wrinkle and 18 great-grandchildren. His children and grandchildren have been blessed to have spent time with him hunting or fishing or sharing a game of cards or dominoes! They have beautiful memories.

            Maurice is also survived by a sister, Irene Rogers of Kansas City as well as many nieces and nephews.

            He is preceded in death by his wife, his parents, a son, Duwayne and his brothers, Byron, Harold, Ray, Louis and Don.

            Funeral services will be held Friday, March 12 at 2:00 p.m. at the Aurora United Methodist Church under the care of Peterson Funeral Chapel. Burial will follow in Maple Park Cemetery.

            Visitation will be held Friday from 12:30 p.m. until service time in the church.
