Mark Alan Sparkman, 58, formerly of Aurora, passed away Friday, April 10, 2020.
            He was born on December 11, 1961, the son of Bill and Roberta (Meyer) Sparkman.
            Mark is survived by his daughter, Amanda Leon and her husband Quentin, of Falcon, CO, his son Jacob Sparkman of St. Louis, MO, his mother Roberta Sparkman of Aurora, three sisters, Jo Ann Hunter and her husband, John; Renae Eden and her husband, Dale; and Lori Weathermon and her husband, Danny, all of Aurora; three grandchildren, Jaelyn, Gavin, and Hazel Leon, several nephews and nieces and great nephews and nieces.
            He was preceded in death by his father, Bill Sparkman.
            Mark was a 1980 graduate of Aurora High School and a 1984 graduate of SMSU in Springfield, MO. He earned his degree in Drafting and Design  and minored in Management and was fortunate to have traveled the country working as a contract engineer with MacDonnell Douglas, Wainwright, and Rocketdyne, among others. He was a former member of  Aurora First Baptist Church.
            One of his greatest loves was music and playing the guitar. His music enjoyment ranged from gospel to country to rock. He also loved the outdoors. He enjoyed camping, hiking and getting lost in the mountains.
            A private graveside service will be held at Marionville IOOF Cemetery under the care of Peterson Funeral Chapel.
            Visitation for family and friends will be held at the funeral home on Sunday, April 19 from 1:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m.
