Luther Lafayette Brown Jr, age 64, of Verona, Missouri, passed away unexpectedly on November 11, 2019 at Cox Medical Center South, Springfield, Missouri.
He was born August 5, 1955, in San Francisco, California, the son of Luther Lafayette Brown Sr and Marilda C. (Scott) Brown, Brott.
Luther was a 1974 graduate of Verona High School and Graft Vocational School. He worked as a machinist for over 40 years at Roderick Arms & Tool Cooperation in Monett, MO. Luther took pride in all his work both in the shop and home.
On August 25, 1990, he married Patricia (Pat) Allison who survives him. He is also survived by a number of nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, half-sister Daphne Heatley, and brother Paul Brown.
Luther was a friend to many and the friends close enough were considered brothers and sisters many asking him to adopt them.
He enjoyed motorcycles, both riding and restoring, reading, and was a history buff focused on the Texas Rangers and western history. He collected guns and enjoyed shooting. Luther was a passionate supporter of the National Rifle Association and a Benefactor member.
Funeral services will be Friday, November 15, 2019 at 10 am in the Peterson Funeral Chapel in Aurora, MO with graveside services to follow at Calton Cemetery in Pleasant Ridge, MO.
Visitation will be Thursday, November 14, 2019 from 5 pm to 7 pm.
In lieu of flowers a memorial donation can be made in in memory of Luther to the National Rifle Association.
