Peterson Funeral Chapel

John Efton Eaton, 61, known to family and friends as "Pete," passed away peacefully on December 16, 2015, at his home, with Robin, his loving wife of 32 years, by his side. Pete fought a long but courageous battle with cancer before he was called to his heavenly home.
Pete and Robin built their earthly home in Mt. Vernon. He was successfully self-employed doing drywall for 18 years. He enjoyed spending time at the local coffee shop and being on the lake, at both places talking about or doing what he loved --fishing. His love for fishing was something he enjoyed doing with family and friends.
He had three children:  Janel Wake of Aurora and from his marriage to Mary Clevenger, a daughter, Amanda (Mandy) Michelle Eaton and a son, Shawn Eaton of Clever.
He is preceded in death by his daughter, Amanda; his parents, Curtis and Maxine Eaton; and a half sister, Mary Trobige
Pete is also survived by two brothers, Curtis and Mike; two half brothers, Rick and Ted; four half sisters, Kay, Helen, Ann and Penny; six grandchildren Alyssa, Garrett and Chelsea Wake and Lane, Laken and Brylee Eaton; and one great-grandchild, Brendon Groesbeck.
Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m., December 19, at Peterson Funeral Home in Aurora, followed by a private burial at Maple Park Cemetery.
