James Franklin Staton 73, of Aurora passed away Monday, August 7, 2017 in his home.
He was born to William and Florence Dwyer Staton on April 4, 1944 in Sparta, MO. James was a retired truck driver, a member of the Chesapeake Baptist Church and served in the Missouri National Guard for 14 years.
Survivors include his wife, Linda; two daughters, Tammy Hartman of Billings, MO. and Heather Vincilione of Springfield, MO.; three brothers, Doug Staton of Texas, John Barton of Ash Grove, MO. and David Barton of Fair Grove, MO.; five sisters, Kathy Hutchison of Sarcoxie, MO., Mary McConnell of Willard, MO., Alice Henry of Springfield, MO., Carolyn Swearingen of Ava, MO. and Sara Miller of Springfield, MO.; twelve grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and 1 sister, Linda Hampton.
Graveside services will be held Saturday, August 12 at 11:00 a.m. in the Spring River Cemetery under the care of Peterson Funeral Chapel.
Visitation will be held Friday from 6-8 p.m. in the funeral home.
