​Irma Pennington Harrall Jones, 98, of Mt.Vernon, passed away on February 5, 2022 at 12:30 pm at the Methodist Manor, Marionville, Missouri. She was the daughter of William “Emery” and Dala Mary (Gates) Pennington. She married Edward Harrall Sr. in September of 1941. He preceded her in death on September 1, 1980. In 1985 she married Ray Jones. He preceded her in death on May 12, 1997. Irma worked as a school secretary for the Los Alamos Public Schools, Los Alamos, New Mexico until her retirement in 1975. She raised four children and helped raise three nieces and one nephew after the death of their mother. Irma loved baseball and was known to listen to one game on the radio while watching a different game on the television. She was an avid fan of the St. Louis Cardinals, but her passion was bowling. She bowled consecutively from 1947 until 2016 when she retired at the age of 93. She was very proud of being inducted into the United States Bowling Congress Hall of Fame in 2009. The last several years she embroidered quilts with her main focus making baby crib quilts. She made over 200 crib quilts, giving all away. The last two years her biggest enjoyment was attending Living Water Church every Sunday where she sat in the second row and drank her cup of coffee and sang the familiar hymns. Irma is survived by her children, Hank (Neva) Harrall, Mt. Vernon, Carole (Kenneth) Renouard, Albuquerque, New Mexico, and daughter-in-law, Sharlyn Harrall, Enid, Oklahoma, seven grandchildren and several great grandchildren. Siblings Virginia Ruble, Joe (Loretta) Pennington and Mary Jane Dundore. She was preceded in death by her parents, both husbands, sons Jay and Jim Harrall and one grandson, John Keith Renouard. Siblings, Heylene, Hal, and Jerry Lee Pennington, Edna Oxford, and Wanda Ivy. A funeral service under the care of Peterson Funeral Chapel will be held on Saturday, February 12, 2022, at 11:00 a.m. at Living Water Church, Mt. Vernon, Missouri. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made payable to Living Water Church.
