​Glen Everett Parker, 89, of Aurora, Missouri, passed away early Saturday morning,
July 16, 2022, in his home with his wife and two daughters by his side.
Born September 10, 1932, in rural Aurora, Missouri, he was the son of Lawrence and Dollie (Arney) Parker.
Glen graduated from Fort Scott High School, Fort Scott, Kansas. He served four years active duty in the U.S. Navy during the Korean war. After returning home, he married the love of his life, Shelba Loretta Waggoner on August 2, 1957,
in Stotts City, Missouri.
He was a local milk hauler for the Monett, Missouri milk plant. They later bought and operated a dairy farm. Glen dedicated 29 years as a deputy sheriff of Lawrence County, having been the first to acquire a canine for drug enforcement in the
county.
Glen was preceded in death by his parents and one grandson, Brent Wormington.
Survivors include his wife Shelba
(17 days shy of their 65th wedding anniversary),
two daughters,
Patti and husband Leo Abramovitz, Aurora, Missouri,
Gayle and husband Junior Wormington, Purdy, Missouri.
grandchildren Travis Abramovitz and wife Dana, Trent Abramovitz,
Tammie (Wormington) Resz and husband Randy,
Chad Wormington and wife Beth, Corey Wormington and wife Noelys.
By six great- grandchildren: Kohen, Kam, Helen, Noah, Joshua, and Asher.
One brother, Garland, also survives along with nieces, nephews, and many friends.
Glen loved the Lord and was a member of Hilltop Fundamental Methodist Church, Crane, Missouri.
A graveside service with full military honors will be at 10:00 AM, Monday, August 1, 2022, at Maple Park Cemetery,
2 West Prospect Street, Aurora, Missouri under the care of Peterson Funeral Chapel.
