Erma Lee Mulford, 78, passed away June 2, 2022 surrounded by family. She was born April 23, 1944 in Bentonville, AR to the late Hazel Maxine (Griffith) McNelly and Archie Irvin McNelly. She was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, William “Bill” Jackson Mulford.
Erma Lee was the cornerstone of her family and loved fiercely. She always saw the best in people, forgave quickly and laughed easily. She loved fashion and growing flowers. Peonies planted from her Granny’s garden were her favorite, along with roses and lilacs.
Erma Lee lived a life of service. Whether it was starting the “Care Committee” when she worked at Tysons, working and visiting at nursing homes, or serving as a chairperson for OATS Transit, providing transportation for the elderly and disabled, she did everything with her whole heart. She generously gave of her time, resources and love to anyone in need.
Erma Lee was the founder and Queen of the “Aurora Golden Girls” Red Hat Society that promoted a passion for fun, friendship, fitness and personal expression. They were her sisters and partners in adventure.
She loved Jesus, singing and praising the Lord. She treasured and loved her family, and prayed earnestly for their salvation and protection. She is survived by her brother Johnny McNelly and wife Barbara of Stella, MO; brother Charles McCullough of Omaha, NE; sister Sherry Woodward of Leakesville, MS; son Archie “Rusty” Mulford and wife Vicki of Aurora, MO; daughter Waltina “Tina” Beyer and husband Bill of Fayetteville, AR; and son Billy “Jack” Mulford and wife Sheila of Cassville, MO; 10 grandchildren- Ronnie (Ninette), Shonda, Tera (Dustin), Krista (Eric), Kerri (Sam), Chad (Erika), Billy, Katie (Jared), Billy Ray and Seth; 13 great-grandchildren; many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
She was greatly loved and will be deeply missed.
We will meet again in Heaven.
A Celebration of Life will be held Monday, June 13 at 10:00 a.m. at the Harbor of Praise Church in Bentonville, AR.
