‚Äč            Elvis Woodrow Proffer, 94, of Aurora passed away Friday, March 15, 2019 in his home.

            He was born to Elvis and Dorothy Mills Proffer on February 9, 1925 in Marquand, MO.  He was a retired machinist and a U.S. Army veteran.

            Survivors include his wife, Rayola; two sons, Terry Proffer of Denver, CO. and Sam Proffer and wife, Beverly of Cortez, CO.; one brother, Gene Proffer of Fredricktown, MO.; one sister, Donna Farmer of Cape Girardeau, MO.; 4 grandchildren, Clayton Proffer and wife, Kimberly, Evan Proffer, Jacob Proffer and Justin Proffer and wife, Jennifer; and 3 great-grandchildren, Nathan, Nolan and Paul Proffer.

            He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Bob Proffer.

            Graveside services will be held Thursday, March 21 at 1:00 p.m. in the Missouri Veterans Cemetery in Springfield with full military honors under the care of Peterson Funeral Chapel.

            Visitation will be held Thursday from 10:00-11:30 a.m. in the funeral home.
