Peterson Funeral Chapel

Edna Mae Bailie went to be with the Lord on August 18th, 2022 surrounded by her loving family. She was the daughter of Eddie and Cleo Frieze, born in Shell Knob, Missouri on June 30th 1937. She later moved to Oroville California with her parents where she graduated high school.  Edna then met the love of her life, Harold Bailie, where they married on July 3rd, 1954.  After over 62 years of marriage, he preceded her in death in 2017.

Edna and Harold moved back to the Jenkins area in 1955 where they purchased their farm. They raised dairy cattle for many years, later transitioning to beef cattle and Black and Tan coon dogs. Edna (Granny B) loved the Lord, her family and the St. Louis Cardinals. She loved to travel and was proud to have visited 49 out of the 50 United States, plus various international locations. Edna loved to read, sew, and crochet and made many of the Walmart display outfits where she was a valued employee for over 20 years. After retiring at the age of 70, she could then be heard over the crowd showing her support for the Crane Pirates at most every basketball game.

Edna was a loving mother and matriarch of the family. She was blessed with 3 loving children, two sons Garold Bailie, Terry Bailie and his wife Teresa, and one daughter, Deena Cope and her late husband Kenneth. Seven grandchildren, Ben Bailie, Cissy Noll, Canaan Bailie, Toby Sturgell, Jackson Bailie, Buffy Fink, and Sara Truman, 10 great-grandchildren, and one great great-grandson with another on the way.  As well as two step-grandchildren Mike Forgey and Blain Forgey, 14 step great grandchildren.

Services will be held Tuesday, August 23 at 1:00 p.m. at the Faith Full Gospel Church in Aurora, officiated by Rex Mooneyham under the care of Peterson Funeral Chapel. Burial will follow in Clio Cemetery in Jenkins, MO.
