Peterson Funeral Chapel

     On the evening of Wednesday, March 4, 2015, Dale Joseph Morris, of Aurora, MO. passed away at age 63 at Mercy Hospital in Joplin, MO while surrounded by family. Dale was recently diagnosed with lung cancer that had spread rapidly to other areas of his body.

     Dale was born on May 22, 1951 in St. Charles, MO. to Rosella and Lester "Budd" Morris who preceded him in in death. Dale graduated from Duchesne High School, St. Charles, MO. in 1969. Dale always enjoyed cars and wanted to be a race car driver in his younger years. Dale worked as a car salesman for many years, working at Jimmy Mitchel Motors in Aurora, running his own used car lot, Midway Motors in Marionville and ending his career at Reliable Chevrolet in Springfield. Dale loved cars, motorcycles and boats. They were his career and his hobby. He truly enjoyed his work and the many people he met along the way. In addition to cars, Dale enjoyed golfing, bowling, playing poker (hosting many parties at his home throughout the years), and had been a member of the Eagles Club. Dale also loved his puppies and took them almost everywhere he went.

     Dale is survived by, daughter, Heather Rose Morris; son, Scott Aaron Morris; step-daughter, Tina (Brian) Harter of Joplin; step-sons, David (LaDonna) Koch of Monett and Joseph (Crystal) Heck of Verona; "adopted" daughters, Ashley Krueger, Leikland Robins, Carly Flom and Cherry Beck; brothers, Mike (Teresa) Morris, Jeff (Cindy) Morris, Rodney Morris and Butch Morris; sister, Barbara (Robert) Boschert; grandchildren, Keaton Dale Morris, Bailey Koch, Andrew Koch, Tylor Koch, Kassie Koch and Remmington Heck; "adopted" grandchildren, Alexis Krueger, Braylen Huse, Caydee Nethery, Emma Hagedon, Aiden Price, Riley Kendall and Drayven Locke.

     The family offers a special thanks to the nursing and doctoral staff of Mercy Hospital in Joplin for their loving care.

     Visitation will be held on Saturday, March 14 at 1:00 p.m. at Peterson Funeral Chapel. A memorial service will follow at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Marty Lewis officiating. Please join the family for a gathering at the Eagles Club following the service.
