            Betty Jean (Andrus) Thomas, 84, of Aurora passed away August 24, 2020.  Betty passed peacefully at her home surrounded by family.

            Betty was born June 14, 1936 to John and Ethel (Head) Andrus.  She was the youngest of seven children, brothers, Jim, Buck, LeRoy, Billy, Joe and Junior and one sister Aileen Forrester all who preceded her in death.

            On December 15, 1951 she married her sailor sweetheart, Gene Thomas in Eureka Springs, AR.  Gene passed away in 2014.  Betty and Gene had four daughters, Wanda Powell, Brenda Little, Regina Futrell and Darla Campbell.  She was blessed with 8 grandchildren, Alan and Travis Powell, Neil and Colby Gold, Nathan and Kylee Gold, Jennifer Frieze and Austin Campbell; 10 great-grandchildren and was preceded in death by an infant great-grandson, Kylee Elder.

            Betty was a cashier for many years at Piggly Wiggly, Milgrams and Consumers of which she retired from.  Betty love Jesus and loved spending time with family and time with her church family at Faith Worship Center.  She was also a charter member of the Wilson Ave. Baptist Church in Aurora.

            Funeral services will be held Friday, August 28 at 10:30 a.m. in the Faith Worship Center under the care of Peterson Funeral Chapel.  Burial will follow in Maple Park Cemetery.

            Visitation will be held Thursday from 6-8 p.m. in the church.
