Bessie Olive Jennings, 86, of Aurora passed away Saturday, May 7, 2016 in the Ozark Methodist Manor in Marionville.
Olive was born in Reeds Spring, MO. on September 3, 1929 to Jessie Bynum (1881-1963) and Bessie Olive Griffin (1890-1961). She was the fifth of five children, Frederick Franklin "Fred" Johnson (1908-1983), Richard Doyle Johnson (1910-1983), Alvin Earl johnson (1915-1983 and Thomas Rex Johnson (1921-1998).
Olive married Kenneth Jennings on August 8, 1958 in Aurora, MO. by Fred Cunningham, Kenneth's uncle, in Fred's home.
She enjoyed Geneology, garage sales, flea markets and family gatherings with children and grandchildren. She was a member of the Marionville Baptist Church and later transferred to the Aurora Baptist Church. She operated her own beauty shop near Saint Charles, MO. for several years.
Survivors include her husband, Kenneth Jennings; 2 daughters, Mary Beth Simpson of South Carolina and Peggy Sue Williamson of Mt. Vernon; son, Dennis Ray Harmon of Aurora; 8 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren.
Olive was preceded in death by her first husband, James Ray Harmon; 1 daughter, Shirley Kay Nichols; 2 sons, Rodney James Harmon and Donald Ross Harmon and her four brothers.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, May 11 at 2:00 p.m. in the Peterson Funeral Chapel. Burial will be in Mt. Olive Cemetery, Marionville.
Visitation will be held Wednesday from 1:00 p.m. until service time in the funeral home.
